Happy chic place

Portugal’s Alentejo region was once one of the most important provinces of the Roman Empire. Today, the beautiful and scarcely populated region is known for its open horizons and kilometres of cork and olive groves. Dive into magical Alentejo and relax a few days at Casa da Moira in Avis, a quiet and pretty white-washed village enriched with historic buildings.

Alentejo is a real insider tip for food and wine lovers and so is Casa da Moira for demanding bon vivants explorers. The beautifully restored manor house from the 17th century is located in the historic centre of Avis, a picturesque little town near the dam Barragem de Maranhão.

Dive into a unique “happy-chic” atmosphere

The owners, Maria and João Tenreiro created this little harbour of recreation two years ago. Together with their daughter Francisca, they are striving to make you discover the slow-paced way of life of the Alentejanos including regional culinary delights and unforgettable sunsets from the family boat at the nearby lake. Their self-proclaimed “happy-chic” home offers a relaxing and cheerful atmosphere with cosy reading corners, large relaxing sofas and sunny terraces. Four big suites were carefully decorated and combine antique items with modern furniture.
